Description Attachments

Check temperatures below the surface of semi-solid materials using Anritsu BT Series needle temperature probes. The range offers different needle diameters, insertion lengths and tip shapes, allowing the probe to be selected around the sample and measurement depth.

Choose a fixed-needle assembly or a model with replaceable needles. For repeat measurements where spare sensing needles are needed, specify the compatible BTN replacement needle together with the probe.

Supply configuration: The existing listing specifies replaceable-needle probe sets with a grip and five needles, and replacement needles in five-piece sets. Confirm pack contents and quantity when requesting a quotation.

Spare-needle matching: Provide the original BT model, thermocouple type and required tip shape. Type E spare needles are also available; confirm the exact BTN reference for your assembly.

For temperatures from -40°C upward, within the selected model’s operating range, tolerance is the greater of ±2.5°C or ±0.75% of the absolute temperature in °C. For sub-zero applications, specify the working temperature and required uncertainty so the applicable tolerance can be confirmed.

Manufacturer tolerance is established under internal-temperature measurement conditions with sufficient heat capacity. Response times represent 99% response in boiling water or vapour; actual response depends on the sample and insertion conditions.

Construction and service considerations

Durability classifications are not service-life guarantees. Describe the sample hardness and insertion method when selecting a probe. Avoid using the needle to lever or force apart the material.

Select the probe for your measurement

Measurement depth: Choose a needle that reaches the required location while keeping the handle clear of the sample.

Repeated testing: If replacement needles are required, select a compatible BT-3 to BT-8 model and include the appropriate BTN spare sets.

Instrument compatibility: Match Type E or Type K to the thermometer or logger input. Confirm the cable length and plug; the complete references above use an ANP miniature connector.
