Check temperatures within a liquid or semi-solid sample using an Anritsu BS Series internal temperature probe. The range includes fine sleeve-type probes for restricted access and grip-type probes for measurements where a handle is preferred.
Select the diameter and insertion length around the sample, then confirm the operating temperature, coating and instrument connection. A suitable probe should reach the required measurement point without unnecessary force or bending.

The listed tolerances relate to internal measurements with sufficient heat capacity. For sub-zero work, specify the actual measurement temperature and required uncertainty so the applicable tolerance can be confirmed.
Response times represent 99% response in boiling water or vapour. Sample viscosity, insertion depth and contact conditions can change the response in use.
Materials and construction
| Item | Specification |
| Probe tube |
SUS304 stainless steel; fluororesin coating on the designated coated models. |
| Grip-type handle |
Nylon resin. |
| Sleeve-type fitting |
SUS316 stainless steel. |
| Manufacturer durability classification |
Grip types: B, more than one year. Sleeve types: C, more than six months. These classifications are not a service-life guarantee. |
| Repairability |
Listed by Anritsu as non-repairable. |
Selecting a probe for your sample
Restricted access: Check whether the smaller sleeve-type diameter can reach the measurement point. Include the sample consistency and any insertion resistance in your enquiry.
Routine immersion measurements: Select a length that reaches the required depth while keeping the handle and electrical connection clear of the sample.
Coated probes: Confirm chemical compatibility and allow for the larger diameter, lower maximum temperature and slower response.
Instrument connection: Match Type E or Type K to the thermometer or logger input. ANP identifies the miniature plug used in the complete references above; confirm the connector on your existing instrument.
