The Anritsu AX Series is a configurable contact temperature probe for measuring stationary surfaces.
The AX Series is based on Anritsu's general-purpose surface probe construction with an additional contact-support head. The sensing head can tilt in all directions to help maintain close contact with the target when the operator's hand angle changes slightly during measurement.
Different head sizes, guard materials, pipe shapes, thermocouple types and lengths can be combined for applications from general surface measurement to high-temperature surfaces up to 800°C.
Good physical contact between the sensing element and the target is important for repeatable surface temperature measurement.
The AX head has a movable range of ±4°. This contact-support function allows the head to follow slight changes in probe angle while maintaining contact with the stationary surface.

The complete AX model number identifies the head size, guard construction, pipe shape, thermocouple, pipe length, grip, cable and connector.

The second model digit identifies the guard material and contact-plate construction. It also determines the maximum operating temperature of the sensing head.

Polyimide constructions should not be selected for applications where the material may come into contact with food, internal organs or bodily fluids.
