Anritsu BR Series Low Temperature Probe
The Anritsu BR Series is designed for temperature measurement in low-temperature and controlled environments such as freezers, refrigerators, incubators and drying ovens.
Its long, flexible thermocouple construction allows the sensing point to be positioned inside equipment, containers or enclosed spaces while the connected temperature instrument remains outside.
BR Series probes are configurable by thermocouple length, thermocouple type, tape length, cable length and connector.

Low Temperature Measurement
The BR Series covers temperatures from -100°C to 200°C. It can be used for measuring low-temperature air as well as liquids and semi-solid materials where the probe construction is suitable.
The flexible sensor construction makes it useful where a conventional rigid probe cannot easily reach the required measurement position.

Typical BR Series Probe
The BR probe combines a flexible fluororesin-insulated thermocouple section with an optional thin tape thermocouple section.
The tape section can be routed through narrow gaps such as refrigerator or freezer doors while helping reduce interference with door closing.

Thermocouple Length
The first two digits of the BR model number identify the thermocouple length. Lengths are selected in 100 mm increments.

Thermocouple Type
The BR Series can be supplied with either Type K or Type E thermocouple elements.

Using the BR Series in Refrigerators and Freezers
The flexible BR construction allows the sensing section to be positioned inside a refrigerator or freezer while the temperature indicator remains outside.
Where the optional thin tape section is used, it can pass through a narrow gap with less interference than a conventional round probe cable.
The measurement position should be selected according to the purpose of the test. Air temperature near a door or cooling outlet may differ from the temperature at the centre of the chamber.
Liquid and Semi-Solid Measurement
The BR Series can also be positioned in suitable liquids or semi-solid materials for temperature measurement.
The sensing section should be immersed sufficiently to represent the target temperature while keeping the connector and other components within their allowable temperature limits.
Typical Applications
- Refrigerators
- Freezers
- Cold storage equipment
- Incubators
- Drying ovens
- Environmental test chambers
- Laboratory temperature monitoring
- Liquid temperature measurement
- Semi-solid material measurement
- Temperature testing inside enclosed equipment
