The Anritsu UX Series is designed for temperature measurement of moving and rotating surfaces.
Its flexible contact-support head follows the surface during measurement, helping the sensing element maintain stable contact even when slight movement, vibration or variation in probe angle occurs.
The UX Series can be configured with different head sizes, contact forms, pipe angles, thermocouple types, pipe lengths, guard forms, cables and connectors to suit different measurement conditions.
The key feature of the UX Series is its movable sensing head. The head can tilt in all directions while remaining in contact with the moving surface.

The contact-support function helps absorb small variations in measuring posture and vibration when the probe touches a moving target. This improves contact stability and makes continuous surface measurement easier.
The UX Series is a configurable temperature probe. Each section of the model number identifies one part of the probe construction.
A typical configuration is: UX-211K-01-D0-1-TC1-ANP.

Two head sizes are available. Select the size according to the measurement surface, required contact stability and surface speed.

The smaller UX-1** head is suitable for smaller targets or narrow measurement points. Its compact construction also makes it easier to position where working space is limited.
The larger UX-2** head provides greater contact stability and supports surface speeds up to 36 km/h.

Different coating options are available according to the selected head form and measurement conditions.
The UX Series can be supplied with straight, 45° or 90° pipe arrangements. Angled versions are useful where the measuring point cannot be reached comfortably with a straight probe.

For 45° and 90° versions, different sensing-element directions can also be specified to suit the orientation of the measurement surface.
The UX Series is available with either Type K or Type E thermocouple elements.
The thermocouple type selected for the probe must match the thermocouple input of the thermometer or temperature indicator.

Standard thermocouple cable is heat resistant to approximately 240°C. Cable length can be specified in 0.5 m increments.

For guard-type UX probes, the guard can be selected according to the diameter of the measurement target.
This allows improved contact with rotating rollers and other curved surfaces. Wheel-type probes use a flat wheel arrangement.

The published temperature range refers to the allowable temperature at the sensor head where it contacts the measurement target. The allowable temperatures of the grip, cable and connector should also be considered.
Surface temperature measurement becomes more difficult when the target is moving. A conventional rigid probe can lose contact when the operator's angle changes or when the target vibrates.
The UX Series flexible-head mechanism allows the sensing head to follow the target, helping the temperature-sensitive section remain in contact with the surface.
Depending on the selected head size, UX probes can be used at surface speeds up to 24 km/h or 36 km/h.
Both the Anritsu UX Series and U Series are designed for moving and rotating surface temperature measurement.
The UX Series adds the flexible contact-support function, allowing the head to tilt and follow the target surface. This is useful where maintaining a fixed probe angle is difficult or where vibration and movement occur during measurement.
The conventional U Series can be selected where a fixed-head moving-surface probe is preferred.
Because the UX Series is configurable, the measurement conditions should be defined before selecting the complete model number.
