Anritsu WE Series Self-Supporting Surface Temperature Probes

The Anritsu WE Series measures stationary surface temperatures using a self-supporting probe placed on the measurement target. Select the probe configuration to suit the surface, temperature and connected thermometer.

  • Contact measurement: Sensing element rests against the target surface.
  • Self-supporting design: For suitable surfaces where the probe can remain stable during measurement.
  • Configuration: Confirm the complete model code, thermocouple type, cable and connector.

Anritsu WE Self-Supporting Surface Temperature Probes

The Anritsu WE Series is designed for contact temperature measurement on stationary surfaces. Place the probe on a suitable target so the sensing element makes contact and the probe remains supported during the reading.

This arrangement is useful when the measurement position allows a probe to rest securely on the surface. Select the configuration around the available contact area, operating temperature and access to the measurement point.

Choosing the Probe Configuration

The existing range listing includes the following Type K references:

  • WE-11K
  • WE-12K
  • WE-21K
  • WE-22K
  • WE-31K
  • WE-42K

Use the catalogue drawings to compare the configurations. Provide the complete ordering code when requesting a replacement, including any cable or connector suffix.

Thermometer & Connector Compatibility

Select the probe and measuring instrument together. The thermometer must support the probe's thermocouple type and use a compatible connector.

  • Existing instrument: Send the thermometer manufacturer and model.
  • Connection: Include a clear photograph of the probe plug and instrument socket.
  • Working temperature: Specify the normal surface temperature and expected maximum.
  • Cable: State the required length and whether it will pass near hot equipment.

Getting a Consistent Surface Reading

Check that the probe sits securely and the sensing element contacts the intended measurement area. Support the cable so it does not pull the probe away or change its position.

Allow the reading to stabilise before recording it. For repeated checks, use the same measurement location and placement method. Describe any curved, uneven or restricted surface when enquiring so the probe arrangement can be assessed.
