Anritsu HHT Series high-durability surface temperature probes for direct contact measurement of hot metal and industrial surfaces.
The Anritsu HHT Series consists of high-durability contact temperature probes for measuring high-temperature stationary surfaces.
Two temperature classes are available. The HHT-4* Series measures from -50°C to 800°C, while the HHT-5* Series is designed for high-temperature measurements from 300°C to 1100°C.
The probe construction can be configured with different pipe shapes and lengths to suit the distance, access direction and temperature of the measurement point.

The HHT Series is intended for direct contact measurement where ordinary surface temperature probes cannot withstand the target temperature.
The sensing head is placed directly against the stationary surface. The extended stainless steel pipe keeps the operator and probe grip farther away from the high-temperature measurement area.
Applications include hot steel, heated metal components, high-temperature production equipment and other stationary industrial surfaces.
Three pipe shapes are available. Select the form according to access to the measurement point and the required working position.

The straight HHT-41K and HHT-51K configurations are suitable where the target surface can be approached directly from the front.
The HHT-42K and HHT-52K provide angled access where a straight probe would place the operator or handle in an inconvenient position.
The HHT-43K and HHT-53K provide side access to hot surfaces and can be useful where machinery or surrounding equipment restricts direct approach.

Published durability is based on Anritsu's specified test conditions. Actual service life depends on measurement temperature, contact duration, contact pressure and surface condition.

The HHT Series is available with different pipe lengths so that the operator can maintain an appropriate working distance from the hot surface.
The current HHT model range includes pipe-length codes from 05 through 20.
For example, the commonly shown HHT-41K-10 and HHT-51K-10 configurations use a 1000 mm stainless steel pipe.
Longer or shorter pipe configurations should be selected according to the measurement position, surrounding equipment and safe access distance.
The complete model number identifies the temperature range, pipe form, pipe length, cable and connector.

The HHT-4* Series covers surface temperatures from -50°C to 800°C.
It is suitable for applications that require high-temperature contact measurement but do not exceed the 800°C class.

The HHT-5* Series is intended for more extreme temperatures from 300°C to 1100°C.
It is the appropriate HHT range when the required surface temperature exceeds the 800°C upper limit of the HHT-4* Series.

For contact measurement, place the sensing head squarely against the target surface and allow the indicated temperature to stabilise.
Measurement accuracy can be affected by contact angle, contact pressure, scale or oxidation on the metal surface and movement of the target. The HHT Series is intended primarily for stationary surface measurement.
For very hot targets, minimise unnecessary contact time and observe the temperature limits of the selected HHT model.
