Keep a visible paper history of process conditions with the Palmer Wahl Model 524 differential pressure chart recorder. Operators can review the trace at the instrument and retain completed charts with operating or maintenance records.
The recorder measures the pressure difference between two connected points. Depending on the selected configuration, additional pens record static pressure and temperature on the same chart, making it easier to compare changes over the recording period.

Pressure selection: The optional static-pressure element has its own measurement range. Selecting a higher-range static-pressure pen does not increase the differential-pressure unit’s 2,500 psi maximum safe working pressure.
Optional static pressure and temperature recording
Static-pressure elements are offered in selected psi ranges up to 30,000 psi, or selected bar ranges up to 600 bar. These are separate catalogue range options, not equivalent unit conversions. Specify the required scale and connection arrangement.
Temperature recording uses a mercury-free bulb and capillary system. Selected Celsius ranges extend to 300°C, with the available range depending on the fill system. The standard capillary length is 10 feet; provide the required bulb location and routing distance when requesting a quotation.
For temperature measurements, include the process connection, insertion length and any thermowell requirement. For static pressure, include normal pressure, maximum pressure and expected pressure surges.
Chart drive and recording period
The sensing mechanism operates mechanically, while the battery-operated drive rotates the chart. Choose the recording period according to how often operators inspect the instrument and replace the paper.
The PC-11 provides recording intervals from 60 minutes to 32 days. A PC-12 drive offers alternative intervals for applications requiring different chart rotation periods. Confirm the exact interval when ordering, and use chart paper printed for that rotation time.

Replacement pens, chart paper and accessories
The Model 524 differential recorder uses AR-3713 series pens. The table below shows the manufacturer’s standard three-pen arrangement. Confirm the installed pen position and configuration before ordering replacements.

Chart paper: Specify the 12-inch diameter, 9-7/16-inch arc line, rotation period and all printed measurement scales. Send the existing chart number or a clear photograph to help identify the correct replacement.
Five-valve manifold: The optional AWR-3691-01 manifold kit is ordered separately. Confirm its suitability and connection requirements for the installation.
