The Anritsu HD series digital thermometers were handheld instruments for contact temperature measurement using interchangeable probes. The HD series is discontinued and has been replaced by the Anritsu HR series.

This page retains the earlier model references and pictures to help identify an existing instrument. For a new thermometer, visit the Anritsu HR series product page .

Identify your existing HD thermometer

Read the complete model number from the instrument label. The model references below were offered with Type E or Type K thermocouple inputs, identified by the E or K suffix.

Replacing the HD series with an HR thermometer

Select the Anritsu HR handheld thermometer according to the work it needs to perform. Do not assume that matching the numerical portion of an HD and HR model guarantees identical functions.

What to checkInformation to provide
Thermocouple type Confirm Type E or Type K on both the thermometer and probe.
Probe connector Identify the ASP or ANP connection. Include a photograph if the connector type is unclear.
Temperature range Specify the lowest and highest temperatures, together with the required display resolution.
Recording and outputs State whether stored readings, computer transfer, an alarm output or an analog output are essential.
Working environment Describe exposure to water, the measurement location and any Celsius/Fahrenheit requirement.
Calibration documents Specify the required calibration points and documentation when requesting a quotation.

HD to HR replacement model guide

Use this table to identify the corresponding Anritsu HR series model for your discontinued HD thermometer. Retain the correct thermocouple suffix: E for Type E or K for Type K.

HD-1750E / HD-1750K HR-1750E / HR-1750K ANP Standard with °C / °F selection

Example: For an HD-1250K, the corresponding model to assess is the HR-1250K, retaining Type K input and the ANP connector. Confirm probe compatibility and required functions before ordering.

Special-output versions: HD-1201, HD-1202, HD-1251, HD-1252, HD-1301, HD-1302, HD-1351 and HD-1352 require a separate replacement assessment. Do not substitute a standard HR model without checking the analog output, alarm connection and connected equipment.

Existing accessories: Confirm compatibility before reusing communication cables, software, power adapters or output accessories.

Can existing HD temperature probes be reused?

Probe reuse should be checked against the selected HR model. Confirm the thermocouple type, connector, operating temperature range and condition of the probe before ordering.

Provide the full probe model number and a photograph of its plug. If a new probe is needed, describe the target: a stationary surface, moving surface, liquid, air or internal material temperature. The probe and thermometer should be selected together.
