Keep the temperature sensing point against a stationary metal surface with an Anritsu MG Series magnetic surface temperature probe. The built-in magnet holds the head against a suitable target, helping operators take readings without continuously pressing a handheld probe into place.
For equipment surfaces, moulds and other magnetically receptive components, select the head size around the available contact area. Confirm the temperature, surface condition and cable arrangement before choosing the complete model.

The magnetic-attraction figures are manufacturer reference values. Surface material, coating, roughness, curvature and cable pull can affect retention. Check that the probe sits securely with the sensing element in proper contact.

The older model list on this page included MG-11K, MG-12K, MG-21K and MG-22K. MG-12K is retained here for replacement identification; it should not be ordered as a current production model.
For a custom probe based on MG-12 or MG-14, send the complete identification code and photographs. Confirm the replacement configuration before assuming dimensional or electrical interchangeability.

Published tolerance applies to stationary, flat and smooth metal surfaces. The nominal response is two seconds to 99% response under the manufacturer’s surface test conditions.
The durability classification exceeds 50,000 contacts under specified test conditions. It is not a guarantee of service life on every surface.

Cable and instrument compatibility
Match Type E or Type K to the thermometer or data logger input. Confirm whether the instrument requires an ANP miniature plug, ASP standard plug or another termination.
The sensing-head rating does not apply to the whole cable. Standard cable references include TS for MG-11, MG-13, MG-21 and MG-23; GW for MG-22, MG-24, MG-62 and MG-64; TA for MG-33; and GX for MG-34.
For MG-33, the TA cable has relatively high resistance. Confirm compatibility with the instrument’s permitted source resistance, particularly when specifying a longer cable.
Check the measurement surface
Magnetic attachment: Confirm that the actual target material attracts the probe securely. Aluminium, copper and some stainless steels will not provide suitable magnetic retention.
Surface contact: Paint, scale, roughness and curvature can affect both contact and readings. Describe the surface condition when selecting the head.
Cable routing: Leave sufficient slack so the cable does not pull the sensing head away from the target.
Stationary use: For moving or rotating targets, compare the Anritsu U and UX surface temperature probes.
