Contact reference for emissivity adjustment
Infrared readings depend on the surface being measured and its emissivity. The AR-6500 series supports automatic emissivity setting using a contact-type probe, helping you establish a setting for the target surface.
Select a probe suitable for the material, temperature and surface shape. A reliable reference requires stable contact with the same area being checked by infrared measurement. Contact probes are not included with the instrument.

Field of view and target size
Choose the measuring distance so the target fills the measurement area. A target smaller than the spot can allow the surrounding surface to influence the result.
