Bring flow indication to the front of your equipment with Ryutai Kogyo panel flowmeters and purge meters. These variable area instruments display instantaneous flow through the position of a float inside a transparent tapered tube.
The GPB, GPC, PGH, GDR and AMF families provide different arrangements for equipment panels, laboratory installations and small-flow pipework. Choose the measuring range and construction around the actual application, then check connections, mounting space and valve access.
Compare the flowmeter families
| Model | Measuring tube | Format and features | Selection focus |
| GPB |
Glass |
Panel and laboratory flowmeter with rear threaded connections and a mirror behind the measuring tube. |
Check the required scale, valve position and panel mounting dimensions. |
| GPC |
Glass |
GP-series panel and laboratory flowmeter. |
Compare its flow capacity, connection arrangement and dimensions with the available equipment space. |
| PGH |
Glass |
Panel-type purge meter with flow-adjustment valve configurations. |
Specify the purge flow, operating conditions and upstream or downstream valve arrangement. |
| GDR |
Glass |
Compact direct-reading flowmeter with threaded connection options. |
Confirm mounting suitability, connection orientation and whether a flow-adjustment valve is required. |
| AMF |
Acrylic |
Lightweight panel flowmeter with Rc 3/8 connections. |
Check acrylic compatibility, flow scale and operating limits. |
Mounting note: These models are not mechanically interchangeable. Confirm the panel opening, fixing arrangement, connection centres and clearance behind the panel before ordering.
Glass or acrylic measuring tube?
GPB, GPC, PGH and GDR use glass measuring tubes. AMF uses an acrylic measuring tube. Select the tube together with the float, connections and seals; the tube material alone does not establish compatibility with the fluid.
Include any cleaning agents, additives and temperature changes in the specification. For an existing installation, identify the original materials before selecting a replacement.
AMF acrylic panel flowmeter specifications

| Rangeability |
10:1, covering 10–100% of the selected full-scale value |
| Accuracy |

Each water range above is a separate scale option. Confirm the required range and fluid conditions when ordering. These AMF ratings do not apply to the glass-tube models.
Flow adjustment and valve position
A needle valve allows manual adjustment of flow where that configuration is fitted. Specify whether the valve should be accessible above or below the measuring tube, together with the available operating pressure.
For pressurised gas applications, Ryutai describes a downstream valve arrangement that uses the upstream pressure as the meter’s scale-setting pressure. Vacuum or other operating arrangements require separate selection.
A needle valve alone does not guarantee constant flow when supply or downstream pressure changes. If stable flow under varying pressure is required, include that requirement when requesting a suitable arrangement.
Replacing a PGF or PGF-N purge meter
The older PGF series has been replaced by PGH. For an existing PGF-N installation, provide the complete model identification and scale details so the appropriate PGH configuration can be selected.
Check the connection size, installation dimensions, valve position, measuring range and operating conditions. A successor model should not be assumed to fit the original panel or pipework without verification.
Select the scale for your operating conditions
For liquids: Provide the liquid name, density, viscosity and temperature. State the lowest flow that needs to remain readable and the highest expected flow.
For gases: Provide the gas composition, pressure and temperature. Specify whether the required units refer to actual operating volume or normalised volume, including the reference conditions.
For larger inline installations, compare the Ryutai GTF, ATF, GTV and ATV flowmeter families.
