Sekonic ST-50M Thermohygrograph with SD Card Recording – Discontinued
:
The Sekonic ST-50M thermohygrograph records temperature and relative humidity on paper charts and an SD memory card. Its digital display provides local readings, while recorded electronic data can be reviewed on a computer.
Discontinued: The ST-50M is no longer available as a new instrument. This page provides reference information, consumable part numbers and alternative recording options.
- Paper recording: Sato NSII-Q thermohygrograph.
- Electronic data logging: Sato SK-L754 temperature and humidity data logger.
- Connected monitoring: Dickson OCEAView environmental monitoring system.
The Sekonic ST-50M temperature and humidity recorder combines a visible paper chart with electronic records stored on an SD memory card. It was designed for users who needed physical environmental records together with data for computer review.
This model is discontinued and is no longer available as a new instrument. The information below supports existing installations and helps users select consumables or an alternative recording system.
Paper charts and electronic records
Separate pens record temperature and humidity on folded chart paper, while the digital display shows current readings. SD-card recording provides an additional electronic history in CSV format for review using compatible spreadsheet software.
- Two-colour paper record: Red for temperature and blue for relative humidity.
- Electronic data storage: Recorded readings can be transferred from the SD card to a computer.
- Remote sensor positioning: Optional extension cables allow the sensor to be located away from the recorder.
- Local operation: Check readings and adjust settings at the instrument.
Unlike the paper-recording ST-50A, the ST-50M includes SD-card memory recording. When selecting an alternative, confirm whether your team still requires both paper and electronic records.

Replacement options for the Sekonic ST-50M
Choose an alternative according to how readings will be recorded, reviewed and retained. The following instruments offer different approaches and are not direct interchangeable replacements.
| Your requirement | Alternative | Selection guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Continue using paper charts | Sato NSII-Q thermohygrograph | For visible temperature and humidity records on a rotating drum chart. Select the appropriate temperature range and 1, 7 or 32-day recording period. This option does not replace the ST-50M's SD-card function. |
| Move to electronic data logging | Sato SK-L754 temperature and humidity data logger | For stored readings that can be transferred to a computer for review and analysis. Specify the SK-L754 within the SK-L750 series and select a suitable temperature and humidity probe. It does not produce a paper chart. |
| Monitor multiple locations with alerts | Dickson OCEAView environmental monitoring system | For central monitoring of rooms, storage areas or equipment using compatible wireless loggers and sensors. Hardware, software and notification services are selected according to the installation and monitoring requirements. |
Planning your replacement
- Record format: Decide whether you require paper charts, electronic files or both.
- Measurement conditions: Specify the temperature and humidity ranges and sensor locations.
- Monitoring coverage: Confirm the number of rooms, cabinets or measurement points.
- Alarm requirements: Identify whether staff need local indication or remote notifications.
- Documentation: Include calibration, reporting and record-retention requirements.
