Connect duct humidity and temperature measurements to your HVAC controller or building management system with the Evikon E2218-DM. Its 200 mm probe positions the sensor inside the ventilation duct, while analog outputs and RS485 Modbus RTU provide connection options for compatible control and monitoring equipment.
The transmitter measures relative humidity and temperature in air and non-aggressive gases. Dew point and absolute humidity are calculated from these measurements.
Analog Outputs and Modbus RTU
The E2218-DM provides two configurable analog outputs, each selectable as 4–20 mA or 0–10 V, with adjustable scales. The RS485 Modbus RTU interface supports digital communication with a compatible host system.
For a new installation, specify the signals accepted by your controller and the required measurement scales. When replacing a transmitter, check the existing wiring, supply voltage and input configuration before selecting the replacement.

Duct Installation and Sensor Placement
Select a measurement position that represents the air conditions you need to control. Check the available insertion space, access for servicing and the routing of power and signal cables.
For installations near humidifiers, cooling coils or other sources of moisture, assess the possibility of condensation at the sensing point. The specified operating conditions are non-condensing.
Specifying the Transmitter for Your System
A clear specification helps match the transmitter to the control system without unnecessary changes during installation. Include:
- Measurement requirements: Expected humidity and temperature conditions, plus any dew point or absolute humidity data required.
- Controller connection: Analog signal type or Modbus RTU communication.
- Output configuration: Required parameter and scale for each analog channel.
- Power supply: Available DC supply or the requirement for the optional 24 VAC version.
- Installation details: Duct dimensions, mounting access and environmental conditions.
- Accuracy requirements: Standard or optional humidity accuracy, with any calibration documentation needed.
