Follow changes in atmospheric pressure with the Sato NSII-BQ Sigma II barograph, catalogue number 7237-00. The instrument draws a continuous pressure trace on paper, allowing you to review when pressure rose, fell or remained steady during the recording period.

Choose this atmospheric pressure recorder when your observation routine calls for a visible chart and a physical record that can be dated, annotated and filed. The transparent cover allows the chart to be inspected during operation.

Atmospheric pressure recording on paper

An aneroid bellows responds to changes in air pressure and transfers that movement to a cartridge pen. A battery-powered quartz mechanism rotates the chart cylinder, creating a record of pressure against time.

The NSII-BQ records atmospheric pressure. For pipework pressure or the pressure difference between two rooms, select an instrument designed for that measurement.

Choose the correct recording period

Use a 7-day chart for a weekly replacement routine or a 32-day chart for a longer overview. The printed chart period must match the cylinder speed setting.

Existing instruments with 1-day operation: Earlier product information lists a 1-day setting, and Sato lists a matching 1-day chart. However, the current NSII-BQ manual specifies 7-day and 32-day operation. Check the speed selector on your instrument before ordering 1-day charts.

Replacement chart paper and cartridge pens

Use the part numbers below when requesting consumables. For chart orders, include the recording period and the code printed on your existing chart.

Chart scale: Sato lists these standard replacement charts with a printed pressure range of 945–1045 hPa. This differs from the instrument’s stated measuring range of 940–1045 hPa. If readings below 945 hPa must appear on the chart, confirm the appropriate chart before ordering.

Older pen references: If your previous order shows 7210-90 or 7210-92, include that reference and a photograph of the existing pen. Confirm the appropriate current part before replacement.

Paper recording or digital measurement?

The NSII-BQ suits a workflow built around physical charts. If you need digital atmospheric pressure readings and a PC connection, view the Sato SK-500B digital barometer.
