A pressure reading taken during an inspection may not show what happens between visits. Dickson PR Series pressure data loggers record measurements at selected intervals, creating a history that can be reviewed alongside equipment operation, maintenance work or a pressure complaint.

Choose the PR125, PR325 or PR525 according to the required pressure range. These display models combine local indication, battery operation and stored electronic readings. The earlier PR150 and PR350 references are also included below to help identify existing installations.

Model availability: PR125, PR325 and PR525 are listed on Dickson’s current pressure data logger product page. PR150 and PR350 details are retained for installed-unit identification; confirm supply or replacement options when enquiring.

The bar values above are rounded conversions of the published psi ranges. Select against the highest expected pressure, including start-up and operating variations, rather than the normal reading alone.

Pressure recording for equipment investigations

For a pressure survey, define the question before setting the logger. You may need to establish when pressure falls, how long a condition lasts, or whether changes coincide with equipment starting and stopping.

Measurement taskInformation to establish
Water-line pressure survey Normal and maximum pressure, connection location, survey duration and the shortest variation that needs to be recorded.
Compressed-air pressure checks Pressure at the measurement point, expected operating cycles and compatibility with the air quality and any condensate.
Equipment troubleshooting When the problem occurs and which machine events, shifts or operating changes should be compared with the recorded readings.
Before-and-after maintenance checks A consistent measurement location, pressure unit, sampling interval and recording period for both surveys.
Existing logger replacement Full model number, pressure range, process connection, software version and current data-download method.

Confirm compatibility with the measured liquid or gas and its temperature before selecting the installation arrangement. The enclosure’s ambient operating rating should not be treated as approval for every process medium or direct hot-process connection.

Configuration note: Dickson’s overview specifies delayed start for PR125/PR325, while its family specification table lists delayed start for the display models collectively. Confirm this feature for PR525 if it is required for your recording procedure.

Battery life and download time are reference figures rather than guaranteed durations for every operating condition. For replacement work, check the physical fitting and dimensions against the installed unit.

Choose the sampling interval for the investigation

A shorter interval provides more readings during a pressure change and fills the memory sooner. A longer interval extends the recording period but may miss changes between samples.

The LCD refresh and recording interval are different. The display refreshes every 20 seconds, while the logger can be configured to sample every second. Use the downloaded record when reviewing changes that are not visible during a brief display check.

If the task involves very short pressure spikes, state the event duration before ordering so the required recording performance can be assessed.

USB download and DicksonWare software

Use compatible DicksonWare software to configure the logger and retrieve recorded measurements. Software is sold separately, so include the software and required connection accessories in a new-system enquiry.

PR125, PR325 and PR525 offer USB or compatible memory-card retrieval. Dickson’s current specification identifies an SD card capacity limit of 2 GB. Confirm the correct card and reader for the actual logger version before purchasing media.

These are locally recording instruments with collected data. USB and memory-card retrieval should not be confused with continuous wireless transmission or automatic cloud access.

PR150 and PR350 replacement enquiries

If you are replacing a PR150, the PR125 has the same nominal 0–100 psi range. For a PR350, the PR325 provides the same nominal 0–300 psi range.

Matching the pressure range is only the first step. The display-model housing is larger, and the enclosure construction, memory capacity, fitting dimensions and download options differ. Provide a photograph of the installation and the existing model label so the replacement arrangement can be checked.

Electronic readings or a paper pressure chart?

Choose electronic logging when you need stored readings for later comparison and analysis. Where the operating procedure requires a visible paper trace, compare the Dickson PW4 and PW8 pressure chart recorders.
