Check heat conditions at worksites, sports facilities and outdoor activity areas with the Sato SK-170GT WBGT monitor. Its built-in black globe accounts for radiant heat while the instrument displays WBGT, air temperature, globe temperature and relative humidity.
Choose indoor or outdoor measurement mode, set a WBGT alarm and review maximum or minimum readings. One 9 V battery and a hard carrying case are included.
When air temperature alone does not tell the whole story, use the SK-170GT to check the surrounding heat conditions. This handheld instrument combines air temperature, humidity and black globe measurements to calculate the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) index. It is a practical tool for checks at construction sites, production areas, farms, schools and sports facilities.
| Measurement | Range | Accuracy |
|---|---|---|
| WBGT index | 0.0 to 50.0°C | ±2.0°C |
| Air temperature | 0.0 to 50.0°C | ±0.6°C |
| Globe temperature | 0.0 to 80.0°C | ±1.2°C from 20.0 to 60.0°C; ±2.0°C elsewhere |
| Relative humidity | 10.0 to 95.0% RH | ±3.0% RH from 30.0 to 90.0% RH at 20 to 40°C; ±5.0% RH elsewhere |

Need continuous observation? The rear mounting hole accepts a suitable tripod. Real-time PC transmission requires an optional RS-232C cable. The tripod, cable and radiant heat shield are not included in this listing.
WBGT readings help assess environmental heat conditions as part of a heat management procedure. Select the correct indoor or outdoor mode and enter a wind speed value appropriate to the location.
